(Note: Students who took the TOEIC LR Test on May 31, 2026 and meet the criteria for exemption when the results are announced on June 12 can apply by uploading a screenshot of the official website. After receiving the hard copy of the transcript, please email the soft copy (scan or take a photo) to elc@thu.edu.tw by June 26. Students who have not completed this step are considered to have not passed the Sophomore English Waiver Application!)
■ If you submit your application, you can check the Student Info System for the SENM Waiving Result after 2 working days. Please email the ELC any changes required at elc@thu.edu.tw by June 26, 2026.
■ Credits:
(1) The Academic Affairs Office will import the approved student list in the following Fall semester. It will be shown on your transcript in the end of the semester along with other subjects. Please check your Score Sheet in the Student Information System.
(2) After students have received approval to waive Sophomore English, they don't need to take the Sophomore English courses. However, students need to take other courses to meet the 4-credit requirement.
(3) On the student's transcript, instead of a grade, Sophomore English courses will be shown as “EX” (Exempt) and will not be included in the GPA. The number of credits for the Sophomore English courses is 0 credits.
(4) Waiving cannot be withdrawn.
(5) Applicable to students enrolling in the 114 Academic Year and following.
